The Lawyer Awards 2020

We are honoured to have been shortlisted for The Lawyer’s prestigious Chambers of the Year award.

Our barristers and staff work as a unit to provide outstanding client service and as a result we have enjoyed another record-breaking year financially and have been involved in leading cases domestically and internationally. This includes having teams in the Rail Franchise Litigation (named in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of this year) and phase 2 of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

This last year has also seen us take on four lateral hires who add breadth and depth to our capabilities, including the addition of planning and environment to our existing expertise, a move which has been praised by our clients as it covers the lifecycle of infrastructure and construction projects. This brings our membership to 65, including 30 silks. 21% of those silks are female which is a large proportion compared to the much of the commercial Bar and retention of female barristers and staff is something we take very seriously.

We are proud of the great strides we have been making to improve access to the Bar, including support of industry diversity initiatives, the early adoption of a contextualised recruitment system and, most recently, making a pledge to fund a withdrawn criminal pupillage in support of the vital work of the criminal Bar.

We also recognise the support that we need to be giving to the wider community and this year we have joined forces with London Pulse Netball Team to sponsor their Corporate Cup and help raise funds for their community. This builds on the success of our own netball team that was formed as part of our wellbeing programme.

The Lawyer Awards 2020 takes place virtually on 3 November 2020. We would like to wish all nominees the best of luck.
