Lord Charles Banner KC Named in Top Two Planning Silks in Planning Magazine’s Annual Planning Law Survey

The annual Planning Law Survey, now in its 27th year, invites solicitors, developers, local authority planners and other client groups to nominate the barristers they consider to exemplify best practice. This year Charles Banner KC has been ranked in the top two planning silks, as well as being the only silk to feature in all three specialist tables; residential, commercial and retail, and infrastructure, where he sits in the top five across the board.
During the course of the nominations process, a solicitor commented that Charles is “always accessible”, a “good strategist”, and has “encyclopaedic knowledge” of case law and relevant appeal decisions.
A “huge bonus”, says a consultant, is that Charles is “extremely personable”. While able to put across points “forcefully if need be”, he does so in a way that avoids antagonising inspectors and judges by coming across as “aggressive”.
