Barristers at Keating Chambers have been involved with many of the world’s largest and most complex construction disputes. As a result of their specialist expertise, they have represented a significant number of leading international contractors and many of the largest employers, in addition to professionals, subcontractors and suppliers. 

Barristers often work in larger teams of lawyers, and they have extensive experience of co-counselling on substantial international disputes. Junior barristers play a vital role and will regularly work with King’s Counsel (from Keating Chambers and elsewhere) and legal teams throughout a dispute, carrying out drafting and providing strategic advice and advocacy. 

Members of Keating Chambers can be appointed as counsel by any lawyer, whether qualified in England and Wales or elsewhere, and have considerable experience of arguing cases under foreign laws, supported by local lawyers. Barristers often work in larger teams of lawyers, and they have extensive experience of co-counselling on substantial international disputes. Junior barristers play a vital role and will regularly work with King’s Counsel (from Keating Chambers and elsewhere) and legal teams throughout a dispute, carrying out drafting and providing advice and advocacy. 

Senior members are also regularly appointed as arbitrators in large construction and other commercial disputes, acting in cases brought under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the LCIA in London, HKIAC in Hong Kong, SIAC in Singapore, DIAC in Dubai, and other regional institutions. They also have considerable experience of ad hoc arbitration proceedings. 

Some barristers at Keating Chambers have particular regional expertise, such as in the Middle East, Africa or Asia Pacific, and many have experience of a wide range of jurisdictions, but all are well aware that the expectations and requirements of international arbitration are quite different from those in the English courts, and tailor their advice and advocacy accordingly.
