Vince Moran QC and Tom Owen will be providing talks on“Bias and fraud in arbitration and adjudication” and “Global Claims” (respectively) to the SCL in Glasgow on Thursday, 2 November.
About the Speakers and Topics
Vince Moran QC is a leading construction and energy silk whose recent cases have related to offshore wind farms, PFI disputes connected with hospital projects and applications for the removal of arbitrators. His talk on “Bias and Fraud in Arbitration and Adjudication” will cover recent important decisions under sections 245, 68 and 69 of the 1996 Arbitration Act including key facts of the cases, relevant law and wider implications of the decisions. Tom Owen is recognised as one of the leading juniors at the construction and energy Bar and is known particularly for his advocacy and trial work. His talk on “Global Claims” will examine the law in this area and offer practical guidance and application concerning case preparation, pleading, tactics and strategy.
