We would like to congratulate Abdul Jinadu on his inclusion in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 for 2025. The eagerly anticipated Hot 100 list is compiled each year to celebrate an incredibly diverse mix of legal professionals from across the industry, all of whom display both ‘excellence’ and ‘relevance’.
Abdul Jinadu
Abdul Jinadu has acted as specialist counsel in the most anticipated Grenfell and Covid-19 inquiries while also being a pioneer for the Construction Bar in Africa, but his day job is acting on major construction cases across the world.
Working on behalf of Bereaved Survivors and Residents (BSR) for Phase 2 of the Grenfell Inquiry over the past three years, Jinadu guided the team in how to frame the construction-related lines of inquiry and led the preparation for the cross-examination questions for witnesses on behalf of BSRs. Last year saw the publication of the Phase 2 report, which he notes was a huge achievement on behalf of the survivors.
His work on the Grenfell Inquiry led to Jinadu’s instruction in the Covid-19 Inquiry by the Department of Health and Social Care, where he’s looking at the issues surrounding the development and deployment of vaccines.
Jinadu describes his practice as being in thirds —one-third of his work is domestic in focus, one-third is in Africa and one-third is Middle Eastern. Acting as co-chair for COMBAR Africa, Jinadu has improved working relationships between the English Bar and counterpart practitioners in Africa by spearheading a series of professional development events in Cape Town, Dubai, London, Nairobi and Yaoundé.
